Control Freaks TV-based games portal launches on i-mode 3G

Australia's Brave Vision launched Control Freaks in conjunction with the new Telstra 3G i-mode service. Control Freaks is a 2.5G & 3G enabled i-mode and Active games portal.

Based on the locally-produced international TV show, Control Freaks is a Computer and Video Games i-mode subscription service that features text-based content, and full motion video.

"Control Freaks is a magazine style program which entertains and informs gamers with News, Reviews, Previews and Features - all about the video games industry. An Australian Games Chart link, with weekly updated Charts, and a newly implemented cheats guide, bundled with the ability to watch what you want, when you want, makes Control Freaks the premier mobile 'gamers resource' in the country," declares Brett Howe, Creative Director of Brave Vision.

Control Freaks is one of the official sponsors of the Australian Game Developers Conference (1-3 December 2005, Melbourne) and will be posting updates daily directly from the floor at AGDC. Available online at control-freaks.tv and on the Control Freaks Telstra i-mode services, gamers unable to attend in person will for the first time be able to keep up with the latest developments at Australia's only National Game Development Gathering.

"We are excited by the possibilities that i-mode presents, and look forward to continued design and development of this, and other mobile video projects," said Howe.

Control Freaks (TV Show) has been broadcast in Asia, Europe, Australia and The Middle East, and with another 26 episode season locked in for Q1&2 in 2006.

Asian Fun strikes “i-mode” Australia

Melbourne-based company Globaltainment has signed an agreement to deliver Asian mobile content for Telstra's i-mode in the Australian Market. This will be a first for Australia and will provide the large Asian community with access to Asian entertainment on "i-mode’s Asian Fun".

Accoridng to Globaltainment co-founder Linden Li:

"Mobile portal users are turning to their phones for entertainment as opposed to other game products that are in today's market.

Asianfun will provide access to the latest Doja games, wallpapers and ringtones from Asia. Most of the games are significant to Asian culture through historical times to present day. Games that involve famous Chinese warriors will provide interest amongst the Asian portal users.

Globaltainment has recently set up a development team in China to cater for the demanding market trends. This provides Globaltainment direct access to the most popular content from Asia to i-mode for Australia.

i-mode Content Forum releases new Aims and Objectives

With the renaming of iClub Edit to i-mode Content Forum, we have also reviewed and reformulated the objectives of the Forum.

The statement of aims is as follows:

1. The Forum covers activities in the i-mode mobile internet business ecosystem for the production of both consumer-oriented and business-oriented content and technology.
2. The purpose of the Forum is to improve collaboration, cooperation, and business activities between members and their customers, such as carriers.
3. The value delivered by the Forum will be measured by the increase in business bought about through its activities.
